01 – Working with Law
Do you have the capacity, equipment and power to control your life? Can you be who you want be or are you just a drop in life’s great ocean.
Millions are affected by unemployment, bad health, poverty and want, there are a lot of problems around -can you solve these problems?
Many of us believe that all our results are brought about by external influences: hereditary, karma and the environment are responsible for our failures. Scientists, however, believe that within each of us is the wonderful world of power, promise and possibility and everything we experience is a direct action of the mind, we therefore need to employ our mind correctly.
The Great Greek dramatists, with their noted insight always saw external events as the cause of our fait and destiny. Shakespeare, however, saw things differently; he noted how man brought about his own downfall: Macbeth – pulled and driven by his ambition, Othello – torn and drawn by his jealousy, Hamlet – wrestling with his reluctant indecisive soul. Characters battling with their inner demons.
Everyone is governed by the law whether they like it or not. The universe operates in an exact way. There is a scientific way of thinking about everything, a way that will produce results – good or bad.
All of our actions are the fruit of our ideas; before we act on anything we must first have had an idea. An idea is a thought or a group of thoughts, that ultimately determine the conditions of our daily lives.
The way we, therefore, shape our ideas is of great importance. Most of us, up until now have been totally influenced by external factors: our moods, happiness and thoughts dragged along with the pictures that are played in front of us each day. Even our reactions to such events being on autopilot. We need to pause take a deep breath and choose our own thoughts and responses, be the masters of our own minds and therefore destiny. Be your own designer and builder.
Bad health, old age, and poverty were pictures in our mind well before they materialised. The law therefore determines itself; it does not discriminate between good and bad.
It will take persistence and effort to rid yourself of old paradigms and patterns – old habits die hard. your mind, body and soul may fight this change at every level. Remember, though, this exercise is about you controlling your mind and not vice-versa. All change is usually uncomfortable in the beginning – know that if you are feeling discomfort, then you are probably on the right path.
When your intentions come into sync with the law and the universe, and not just for personal caprice we begin to realise we are part of something special. Start giving intelligent direction to the mind and let creative power engulf you, be rid of all things petty and pointless, and you will begin to see upward progression.
Have and gain an open mind and be willing to work with the law, work at it on a daily basis. Everything you desire can be yours, when you approach the laws wisely, mindfully and openly. The law is in place in everyone, no one can escape the laws – learn how to use them correctly and you will be able to overcome any circumstance.
Beware of the the undeveloped mind: this is prejudice, materialistic, and competitive by nature. It may be able to solve the hardest maths equations known to man, but ultimately it will never fulfill its true destiny unless it changes. The developed mind, however, knows no prejudice, blesses so called obstacles in his path, is generous both with praise and finances and moves forward with a creative and honest mind, always taking action. The man with the developed mind does not know failure – how can he? It is impossible to fail if we keep going; the only failure is in giving up.
I watched a program recently, where a man had developed a terrible stutter at the age of 5. This man was now 40 years old, and had given up on socialising and trying to speak in front of others. He could not look anyone in the eye and the thought of standing up and talking in front of a crowd sent cold shivers down his spine. Sent to help this man, was a remarkable gentleman who had himself once suffered from a stammer. He told the gentleman with the stammer, that within 3 months he would be facing his worse fear –a long dialogue in front of a large crowd. By the end of the the 3 months, the time had come: a special stage had been setup in a shopping mall, and a large audience gathered for an occasion they had not yet been informed of: This man announced to the audience that he had had a stutter and that he was no longer going to let it get in the way of communicating with people. The man made his way through the poem “IF” by Rudyard Kipling, and not without some difficulty and a fair amount of stammering. He had practiced for 3 months for this one moment, and failed in his quest to, completely, eliminate his stutter – did he fail or succeed? This man starred his deepest, darkest fear square in the face and kept going untill he had finished his speech, and then kept on going for days, weeks, months, after this, eventually riding himself of his stammer. Remember the only defeat is in giving up, if you never give up you can never fail. The beauty is in the attempt, and the attempt, and the attempt. If you get stuck in a maze you will eventually find your way out, only if you keep going – it is impossible not to.
Stop blaming others and external happenings for your results. Stop watching the news and reading newspapers, this will only confirm the believes that you already hold, that the world is a bad and dangerous place. Start studying the laws and abundance. No man ever helped another man out of a whole by jumping in the whole with him. Be the best you can and bring out your true self, this is ultimately what you are here for – ‘to bring out your true self’
Stop planning for your heaven in some future time, when it can be had now – this minute. Picture now all the things that make you truly happy, all the things you want: wealth, health and a creative open and compassionate mind; free from pettiness and competitiveness. Keep that thought in your mind for as long as you can and keep coming back to it on a regular basis each day. So much so that the thoughts begin to feel like reality. If you get to this stage, then, watch and see how your world will begin to change.
Working the law can be as simple as touching a light switch. Start using your desires for the better, give each man more in value than you take from him, bring forth thoughts of goodwill and kindness, give freely and be generous, give without expecting to receive, live life with a can do attitude, learn to take action and keep going. Heaven can be found here on earth, it is waiting for you right now, it is within yourself, and the universe wants you desperately to have it.
And I leave you with some inspirational quotes:
All who have accomplished great things have had a great aim, have fixed their gaze on a goal which was high, one which sometimes seemed impossible.
Orison Swett Marden
Each of us has much more hidden inside us than we have had a chance to explore. Unless we create an environment that enables us to discover the limits of our potential, we will never know what we have inside of us.
Muhammad Yunus
